AI AND THE HUMAN ADVANTAGE

Artificial intelligence is reshaping nearly every industry, and talent mobility is no exception. From automated communication to job market analytics, technology is accelerating how information is accessed and applied.Â
Recent SHRM research indicates that more than half of HR leaders are already using or actively exploring AI tools within their organizations. The shift is not theoretical. It is operational.Â
The real question is not whether to use AI. It is how. At REA, we see AI as an enhancement tool, not a replacement for coaching.Â
For example, our coaches guide relocating partners in using AI-driven job search platforms more effectively. That may include refining resumes with AI-assisted language tools, practicing interview scenarios with AI simulations, or leveraging job market analytics to identify emerging opportunities aligned with their background.Â
But the strategy behind those tools, how to position experience, when to pivot, how to navigate confidence gaps, remains human.Â
We also use AI internally to streamline administrative coordination, resource gathering, and documentation. By reducing time spent on repetitive tasks, coaches can invest more time in conversation, customized strategy, and meaningful guidance.Â
Efficiency creates space.Â
But integration still requires judgment.Â
Relocation involves professional risk, identity shifts, and emotional recalibration. A tool can suggest phrasing. It cannot interpret hesitation. It cannot sense burnout. It cannot reframe a setback with perspective.Â
The strongest mobility programs will not be defined by how aggressively they adopt technology. They will be defined by how intentionally they pair technology with experienced human guidance.Â
In mobility, speed matters.Â
So does discernment.Â
The organizations that balance both will serve relocating families best.Â
